Info Salons Group, the event technology, database and registration specialists, is launching iEvent, a ground-breaking iPhone App for the events industry, during AIME 2010 at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, 2-3 March.
iEvent gives delegates, visitors and exhibitors the ability to navigate event schedule details, exhibitor information and access the exhibition floorplan before, during and after the event, from any Apple iPhones® and iPod touches®.
“When iPhone was launched, we realised there was great potential to create an application for it that could place event information at the fingertips of attendees,” said Jo-Anne Kelleway, CEO, Info Salons Group.
“Info Salons then built iEvent, an extraordinarily interactive event portal that allows visitors and exhibitors to maximize their time during an event and make the most of their return on investment.”
The benefits of iEvent go beyond use only during trade shows and public exhibitions, as it offers the opportunity to keep communicating with attendees 365 days a year.
“The iEvent – iPhone App is also a perfect green solution. Attendees are tired of carrying around tons of heavy printed literature during an event.

My Schedule
Organising how to best spend time at conferences or trade shows can be tricky. iEvent allows attendees to flag their favourite sessions and exhibitors, and keep them all in a handy listing for reference.
Maps & Exhibitors
Visitors will never be lost again. Each exhibitor listing displays the stand number, contact details and description. A full floorplan map of the event can be displayed on screen, complete with stand numbers to easily find any exhibitor.
Events & Speakers
Session and speaker details, including the session room name, are listed and can be tagged to Add To Your Favourites.
Social media
The iEvent – iPhone App integrates seamlessly with Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites to make sure that every event gets comprehensive viral marketing coverage through the social web.

Whether riding in a taxi, sitting in a café or
waiting to board a plane, people can now register for an event
quickly and conveniently on their mobile phone with
the launch of Info Salons’ world first Mobile Web Registration
solution.
The
innovative breakthrough, which allows visitors and delegates to
register and even pay for an event using a web-enabled mobile phone,
is designed to meet the needs of people who are increasingly relying
on their mobile devices for communication and business activity.
“From chefs to landscapers, from hairdressers to
mining engineers, there are so many people who have come to depend
on mobile phones because they don’t have easy access to a computer,”

“Mobile Web Registration fills an important gap in industries where internet
access is not always readily available.”
Research
by internet analysts eMarketer estimates that there are currently
500 million mobile internet users worldwide, while travel industry
market researchers PhoCusWright predict that mobile penetration
will reach 50% this year, a figure fuelled by markets including
China, India and Korea where consumers have greater access to
mobiles than desktop computers.

Salons’ user-friendly service gives people direct access to the
online registration page for any event - right from their mobile
device. The page is designed to fit perfectly on the screen of their
mobile, so they can register instantly instead of having to wait to
get back to the home or office.
Mobile Web Registration enables organisers of events to save costs
and speed up visitor and delegate “check-in” onsite, reducing
congestion at venues. Organisers can even use Mobile Web
Registration to promote their upcoming events to potential visitors
free of charge.
The
ground-breaking service is part of the Info Salons suite of event
specific database and registration applications, and integrates with
the company’s other registration solutions.
“Pre-registration check-in solutions such as e-badge, are now a
priority for many organisers,” said Kelleway.

Mobile Web Registration solution improves the visitor experience,

To
access Mobile Web Registration, users need a PDA mobile device that
connects to the internet via a browser. While there is no cost to
access the service, if data submitted is intensive users may be
charged by their wireless provider for data usage.
