Ground
breaking registration technology at Perth Convention
Exhibition Centre
Info Salons has partnered with the newly
opened Perth Convention Exhibition Centre to bring online
registration to an Australian convention centre for the first
time.
We spoke with Paul D’Arcy, General Manager
of the centre about the benefits the new system would
bring:
Q: In what way will the online registration
system improve the registration process at the centre at trade
shows? Paul D’Arcy: Registration for trade
shows in Perth in the past has been either manual or imported
from "The East". This system allows organisers to have
all the benefits of a sophisticated registration system
without the additional costs of transport. It also
allows for integration with other systems and allows the use
of trackers which enables exhibitors to build a database of
visitors interested in their product.
Q: How does this system form part of your
overall communications platform? PD: The system plugs directly into
our broadband, high-speed internet access and adds to the
suite of products already offered.
Q: Have you had the opportunity already to
use it in a "live" situation? PD: We have used it for our first
trade show Comm/IT and it was a great success. We plugged in
the PC's and printers, spent an hour training the staff and we
were away. The system performed extremely well over the
two-day show and the organiser has already booked it for his
next show.
Q:
How many bookings are you
holding that will utilise the online registration
process? PD:
We are holding over 60 conference
bookings and 20 trade shows and would hope to convert a
significant number of these.
Q:
What has been the response of
your clients to this enhanced registration
process? PD: The
response so far has been overwhelmingly positive.
